The Comptroller is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Undergraduate Student Government. They oversee the financial matters of USG and ensure that all expenditures are in accordance with USG policy and any applicable laws and regulations. The Comptroller, with the President, prepares the budget for the organization. They work very closely with the Funding Board and also assist the President in other administrative duties. The Comptroller is elected by the student body at-large in the spring.
Matthew Burrill, a junior majoring in actuarial sciences in the Honors Program, is the Comptroller of the Undergraduate Student Government. Matt has served for two years in USG in varying capacities, initially joining as an elected CLAS senator in October 2007. Matt worked on the Academic Affairs Committee throughout the 2007-2008 scholastic year and was re-elected to the CLAS senator seat in April 2008. Matt was then appointed Deputy Chief of Staff to Rob Puff for the Fall 2008 semester, aiding in program relations and direction of GUARD DOGS and the new program UC-SPAN. Matt's work on programs continued in the spring semester when he was promoted to Chief of Staff under President Zaritheny. He served by working exclusively with GUARD DOGS and UC-SPAN to better their programs on a whole. Finally, he was elected as Comptroller in April 2009.
