USG's Student Affairs Committee will continue its Straight from the Source forums. University administrators will be on hand to answer your questions beginning at 7pm on September 8 in the Student Union Ballroom.

Administrators expected to attend are:
Dr. John Saddlemire, Vice President for Student Affairs
Dr. Veronica Makowsky, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Regional Campus Administration
C. Dennis Pierce, Director of Dining Services
Steve Kremer, Executive Director of Residential Life
Barry Feldman, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
 
The meeting will, as always, follow a question and answer format. For those who can't attend, the meeting will be recorded and posted as a USG podcast.
Funding Informational Sessions

Funding Informational Sessions will begin on Monday, August 31 at 11am in SU Room 221. Please remember that in order to apply for USG Funding, the COO and/or CFO of a Registered Tier II Organization must attend one Funding Informational Session per academic year.

Meetings are held weekly in Student Union Room 221.

Mondays: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Tuesdays: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Wednesdays: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Thursdays: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

 

Renowned columnist Roger Cohen to visit UConn

USG will be sponsoring a lecture by Roger Cohen, columnist for the New York Times, on April 28 from 7-9pm in the Student Union Theater. Mr. Cohen will be speaking on globalization and international affairs. He will also be taking questions. The event is open to the campus community free of charge.

Elections Week Events and Giveaways sponsored by USG

USG is sponsoring events and free giveaways this week in conjunction with the Spring Elections.

 

Join USG on Tuesday April 14 from 7-9pm for a FREE a cappella concert in the North Lobby of the Student Union (across from the TV lounge). Enjoy A Minor, the Cordials, and Extreme Measures as they perform to promote the USG elections! Computers will be on site for attendees to vote and receive an "I Voted" bracelet, which they can use to redeem lots & lots of free giveaways at....

 

STUDENT APPRECIATION DAY

USG will be out in full force at the University Seal (in front of the library) from 11am-2pm on Wednesday, April 15. Show your "I Voted" Bracelet to enjoy FREE food, grab a FREE tshirt & more!! Computers will be available in CUE to verify your voting status

USG Recognizes Professional Excellence

USG and the USG Academic Affairs Committee is proud to announce the winners of this year's Professional Excellence Awards.

Educator of the Year: Steven Kalb, Journalism

Advisor of the Year: Robert Gallo, Biology

Administrator of the Year: Amanda Burgess Cannada, AACC

 

The winners were announced at the annual Professional Excellence Banquet on April 9. Congratulations to the winners and all of this year's nominees!

USG Presidential Candidates Debate

Join USG and the University community on Wednesday April 8 at 7pm in the Student Union Lobby for the annual USG Presidential Debate. Candidates for President and Vice President of the Student Body will discuss issues and offer their views on a various range of topics pertaining to campus life. With USG Elections beginning Monday, April 13, this is a great time to hear from the candidates.
